..and finally… a message from Simon Kirby…but is it Peace in Our Time, or WAR?

Last week I wrote about the possible implications of a “BaHexit” – the possible secession of Brighton & Hove from the UK.

Since then, there have been a couple of interesting developments. Firstly, a message from Simon Kirby, MP for Brighton Kemptown & Peacehaven (aka “The Blue Zone”).

It is the first message ever received from an MP outside of the People’s Republic of Brighton & Hove and marks a landmark in communications between the two territories.

It reads….(drum roll….)

“Thank you for your email regarding The People’s Republic of Brighton & Hove Facebook group. Brighton and Hove is a very special place unlike many others. Kind regards, Simon.”

It is signed, significantly, Simon Kirby MP Member of Parliament for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven [his bold type].

The ramifications of this historic message will be picked over for years to come, but my first impression is that Simon secretly wants to join us – why else would he send us “kind regards”? His tacit recognition of our “Republic” is most welcome, although he is careful to describe us as a “Facebook page” and not an actual micronation.

We extended our thanks for his taking the time to reply.

The other development, I have to tell you now, is deeply sinister and disturbing.

Behind Simon’s warm words has been uncovered a sinister plot to smash our nascent Republic in 15 minutes’ flat. We are not suggesting that Simon is behind this, but he might want to use his best efforts to calm the “situation”.

The plot involves an invasion of Brighton and Hove to be launched from Woodingdean Carnival on June 27. Using women and children as human shields in this way just shows what depths these people will sink to.

Look at the 1pm event in the flyer for the “Carnival” – it reads “World War 1” – this has been interpreted by our intelligence moles as a codeword to invade the Republic. We must prepare accordingly. Dig out your broom-handles, rotten foodstuffs and other waste products and prepare for WAR, should our diplomatic efforts fail!
